To-do List

Here is a list of jobs and things to do to the blue Imp. This list however is not exhaustive and I am sure more will be added to it as things progress…

Strip Paint and perform repairs to body, including but not limited to dent on right rear wing, a couple of patches of bog and a few other dents and dings.

New paint.

Complete and repair brightwork.

Fit new rubbers and seals to windows doors bonnet and boot.

Fit new laminated windscreen.

Remove suspension and paint/powdercoat. Alternatively recondition the spare set of suspension arms I have.

Fit new suspension bushes.

Fit Monte Carlo springs and new shocks

Recondition brakes, considering disk brake conversion for front.

Fit new Performance Superlight 13×7″ wheels and suitable tyres.

Recover dash top.

Paint or cover instrument binnacle.

Find a suitable steering wheel.

Fit new seatbelts or racing harnesses.

Fit new bucket seats on suitable frames, otherwise retrim original seats front and rear.

Possibly remove back seat and fit roll cage.

Make door/side trims.

Possibly get carpet, depending if a stripped/caged interior is done or not.

Look into fitting some extra gauges to dash – tacho, temp, oil etc.

Swap ignition barrel to one with key.

Swap drivers door handle to one with key and match to ignition.

Swap rear hatch lock to one with matched key.

Swap engine cover lock to one with matched key.

Recondition and recore radiator, check hoses and plum heater core.

Check and recondition steering rack, fit new boot.

Find squeak in steering column.

Test electrics and see what does and doesn’t work.

Rebuild carbies.

Refit motor and see if it runs or not. New motor to be built. Not going into detail about the drivetrain here as yet as I dont know what is needed as yet. I want to get the rest of the car sorted before I worry about it.
